Drawing Bootcamp: Light and Shadow
Instructor: Michelle Arnold Paine

June 10, 17, and 24 | 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.



These three sessions will focus on light and shadow, perceiving value relationships, and understanding "light logic" including cast shadow, form shadow and reflected light. We will introduce several techniques for creating value in a drawing, including subtractive drawing and repetitive mark-making.

May 29 | Painting Skies

When painting landscapes, the appearance of skies and the position of clouds enhance the composition. I will demonstrate different approaches to creating skies in watercolor. Bring your watercolor supplies and a sketchbook. I will send an email later about subsequent classes.

Get ready for a colorful and unforgettable experience! You will learn how to mix vibrant acrylic paints and create mesmerizing patterns. Every piece will be unique! Teens/adults. No experience needed.


During the June 14, 2024 hands-on pour painting class, we will be learning the "Chain Pull" technique. . Creations will stay at Toledo Artists' Club to dry and can start being picked up during regular business hours on June 17.
