Prospectus

All Things Bright and Growing Members' Show

The Toledo Artists Club’s next online and live gallery exhibition is All Things Bright and Growing. Impress us with your flora...gardens, trees, flowers, all things bright and growing!


Only members of the Toledo Artists Club with dues paid by March 10, 2022, may participate. Media are limited to painting, drawing and photography. Maximum frame size is 36 inches on the longest side.  Artists are invited to submit digital images (.JPG) of up to three original works of art. All submissions must be made through the application below. The show will be promoted on the Toledo Artists' Club Facebook page, to the public, and to area art organizations.

All artwork must be original, completed within the last four years, and not produced in a class or workshop. Artwork that received an award in any previous exhbition at the Toledo Artists’ Club may be submitted, but is not eligible for an award. The club retains the right to reject any entry it considers inappropriate or inappropriately framed. Drop off accepted entries at The Schedel Arboretum & Gardens, 19255 West Portage River South Road, Elmore, Ohio 43416, at the date and time given below. All entries to be displayed in the gallery must be suitably framed with acrylic glazing (no glass except for soft pastels), and ready to hang. Artwork must remain for the duration of the exhibit. Sawtooth hangers are not acceptable. Back labels will be provided to the artists for the accepted works. The label must be attached to the back of the frame.


Important Dates

  • February 9, 2022 Call for entries.
  • March 10 Deadline to submit
  • March 14 Notification of accepted artwork
  • March 27, 10 AM to 3 PM Deliver artwork to Schedel Gardens
  • April 1 Exhibit opens
  • April 10, 2 to 4 PM. Reception at Schedel Gardens.
  • May 30 Exhibit closes
  • May 31 10 AM to 4 PM Pick up artwork from Schedel Gardens. If a person other than the artist is picking up the work, they must have the artist's written permission.


Release of Liability

The artist should insure their work at all times. The Gallery Committee will handle the artwork in a professional manner. Neither the Toledo Artists' Club nor Schedel Arboretum and Gardens are responsible for any loss or damage to the artwork at any time during the duration of this exhibit.


Entry Fees

  • Active Toledo Artists’ Club members: $25.00 for the first entry
  • $5.00 for each additional entry
  • All artwork must be submitted through the application below.
    Fees are paid when submitting entries.


Entry Procedure

Having the following information and images ready before completing the application will make the process faster and more efficient.

  • Name, address, email, phone number
  • Artwork title, media, materials, dimensions
  • Retail Price
  • Images of artwork

Complete the application below.
The contact information must be accurate; the email address and phone number provided will be used to contact you regarding your submission.

Upload images of artwork.

  1. Image files should be in high-quality JPEG format, not exceeding 2MB in size, and 1,920 pixels on the longest side.
  2. A maximum of three (3) images may be submitted.
  3. The file name must contain your first initial, last name, title of the work, and medium. Separate all words with an underscore; do not use a space.

    contact the club.
  2. PLEASE NOTE: entries without properly labeled images will be disqualified.

Awards

The juror chosen by the Toledo Artists’ Club Board Members will select these awards:

  • Best of Show: $100.00
  • First Place: $75.00
  • Second Place: $ 50.00
  • Third Place: $25.00
  • Four Honorable Mention Certificates.
  • One People's Choice Award
  • The People's Choice Award is selected by visitors to Schedel Gardens during the exhibit voting for their favorite work of art. The artist whose work receives the most votes will receive the People's Choice Award. The winning artwork and recognition will be exhibited at the Toledo Artists' Club during the Month of June, and  announced in the June 2022 Sketchpad.


Sale of Artwork
All artwork must be for sale. The contact information of any buyer will be provided to the artist shortly after the close of the exhibit. The artist is responsible for arranging the delivery of the sold work to the purchaser. The sales price minus commission (40%) will be remitted to the artist within 30 days of the end of the show.
