Dear Members,

Keep the faith, Spring is coming soon... I think?

I know that the Plein air painters are anxious to start their outdoor adventures as soon as the weather breaks.

Make sure that you stop into the Club to see the new bathroom improvements and to see the beginning of the freshly painted classroom. Here is a big "thank you” to Bren Clixby and her partner Doug.

Also, here is a shout-out to all the volunteers who found time to carry on the many behind-the-scenes activities to make the New Members’ Only Invitational Show possible. With more than 50 entries, the gallery has never looked better.

Here they are in no special order: Mike Hill,  Duane Lammers, Mike Clink, Ed Marks, and Karen Hakel for hanging the show; Elaine and George Scarvelis for installing the signage cards at each of the works;
Linda Miller for making everything run smoothly while coordinating all the activities in our busy club and Elaine Scarvelis, Joe Fisher, and Joe Rudski for judging the show entries.

A members’ meeting has been scheduled for March 23, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and will be held at the club. The demonstration will be by Elaine Gregory. Elaine will show us an example of acrylic pour painting and painting with dots (pointillism).

We will meet again on May 25, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. for the Annual Members Meeting at which time we will elect our new board members and officers. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this meeting. The meeting will be held at the Toledo Botanical Garden Conference Center. We have planned an informative lecture on copyright law and how it applies to our art.

A number of our members have entered regional and local art competitions and are showing their works at fine art galleries. Gina Wolfrum was recognized for her entries into the ADC Fine Art Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Hayley Art Gallery in New Albany, Ohio, and the Bryn Du Mansion in Granville Ohio. And yet another member, Robert du Nord’s Celosia Before a Mirror, was awarded an Honorable mention, in the Lawrence Street Gallery exhibition, In Ferndale Michigan. Congratulations to all.
