A panel of jurors judged this show with the idea that we would produce a well-rounded selection of works. The committee made individual observations of all the works and listed the top-ten candidates. The individual panelist’s lists were grouped into a list of finalists. The panel then reviewed the list of finalists to discuss the winning qualities each piece possessed. Among other qualifications, we looked for originality, creativity, technical skills, and a sense of self-confidence in each piece. From this review and the ensuing discussion, the final eight pieces were selected.

BEST OF SHOW
Mother Nature–Robert Coffield
This magnificent piece takes your breath away. It checks all the boxes of originality, creativity, technical skill, and self-confidence. This piece–along with Robert’s other entries–is superbly designed and crafted.
FIRST PLACE
On the Rocks–Janealla Killebrew
This wonderful watercolor also checked the boxes of originality, creativity, technical skill, and self-confidence. This is an excellent piece that draws the viewer into the painting and keeps them there. The depiction of rocks in water is exceptional.
SECOND PLACE
Midnight in Port–Kathleen Burkhart Coy
This is another excellent piece full of expression and great use of color to express the mood. Originality, creativity, and self-confidence abound in this work.
THIRD PLACE
Marsh in Bloom–Randi O'Reilly Lowry
This work in pastel is well-designed. It calls the viewer into the scene and keeps the viewer looking deeper and deeper into the painting. The use of color is exceptional.
