Dear Members,

Here we are with eleven months remaining in this new year. As much as we enjoy a brisk winter’s day with freshly fallen snow and the warmth of the winter sun we are looking forward to early spring. The months of December 2022 and January 2023 have been fruitful with continuing new member sign-ups and we were awarded a grant of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated by the City of Toledo and the Lucas County Commissioners and administered by The Arts Commission. This grant will help to support our operating costs through 2023.

We are continuing to explore other grant applications with the Ohio Arts Council.

We are looking for new projects to submit for these grants.

Do you have any ideas?

We have worked on strengthening our relationships with other regional art organizations and with the Metroparks. We are working closely with our regional representative in her efforts to make the Toledo Artists club and each of the Botanical Garden art community groups, a regional attraction.

Many of our members have entered regional art competitions and have been recognized for their works. It is so heartwarming to see so many of you bravely entering your works to be judged. I encourage you to continue stretching and challenging yourself. For those of you who consider yourself a beginner artist, please know that not one of us has begun creating at the master level. It is only in the repetition and desire to improve that we can move along our creative journey.

We are working on booking three workshops for 2023. Please check back regularly for the latest Workshop information.
