About Hope

Hope has a background in executive direction, graphic design, marketing, illustration, art direction, and product design. She holds a BFA in Art & Graphic Design.

Hope currently serves as the Program Director of LC Nature Park near Fort Wayne, Indiana, and has worked as the Executive Director of the Wassenberg Art Center in Van Wert, Ohio for 11 years. There she curated over 30 exhibits. She has served as an Art Director at Bittersweet, Inc., a Graphic Designer for Sauder Woodworking, a graphic design and photography instructor for Defiance College, and a Toy Designer for Ohio Art. 

She continues to freelance in graphic design, interpretive signage, and maps. She has provided designs such as ceramic music boxes, mugs, and other tableware in both domestic and international giftware markets.

Her personal work encompasses a love for nature and includes hand-carved ceramic art, kinetic sculpture made from found and natural objects, jewelry, and painting.

Statement

Thank you for taking the time to share your compelling artwork with the community! The Toledo Artists’ Club’s 2024 Artist’s Choice Online Only Show is a remarkable showcase of the creativity and hard work that defines our region.

The artworks showed an impressive diversity of styles, techniques, and themes. Each piece offered a unique perspective and contributed to a rich tapestry of what is significant in artist’s lives and collectively valuable to all of us. The skillful use of varied mediums to explore complex themes and evoke emotional responses was impressive.

The quality of the submissions made the selection process challenging and enjoyable. It was evident that everyone has invested significant thought and effort into their work. The range of ideas presented demonstrated technical skill and offered profound commentary on personal and societal issues.

Congratulations to all for their exceptional contributions. This competition has again illustrated the power of art to inspire, provoke thought, and connect us all.
