"As a lifelong art enthusiast, collector, and student of various media, I have a well-developed appreciation for originality and artistic expression, craft, and the importance of professional presentation of finished work, for both the work itself and the viewer. I have judged several shows over the years for the Toledo Artists Club and am honored to be invited back."

Juror Comments

First of all, I would like to congratulate the new members of the Toledo Artist’s Club on your participation in this show. As a whole, I found it to be a really nice, engaging compilation of work. My task of judging such diverse works against each other without a theme or criteria was challenging, so I set my own set which were:

  • Demonstration of craftsmanship and mastery of the media
  • Professional presentation of the work
  • Originality of subject matter and/or unique perspective offered by the artist through the work
  • The ‘Wow’ factor – Was the piece something that inspired a bit of awe?
