PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD
Peony–Edward Marks
Nice to meet you! I'm Linda, an artist, educator, traveler, student, and juror.
Art has always been a focal point in my life; acquiring, studying,
producing, teaching, and observing. Creating in a variety of media, 2-D or
3-D, I love it all. From painting to glass and photography to clay, the design
remains a constant theme. I love to have new experiences and revisit
previous media.
Currently, I am involved in The Athena Art Society, The Toledo Museum of
Art Ambassadors, and The Les Cheneaux Arts Council; organizing art
shows, classes, and events.
Hosting 36 foreign exchange students over the years has opened my
views and enriched my experiences.
I continue to exhibit, volunteer, offer workshops and serve as an advocate
for The Arts.
Jurying at the Toledo Artists’ Club is a privilege. I appreciate this opportunity.

BEST OF SHOW
Siegert Lake Sanctuary–Martin Chappieus
The sheer size of this piece with its intertwined textures and details seems to draw you in but does not let you escape.
FIRST PLACE
Spring Breaking Out–Michael P. Hill
The fine hand and deliberate attention to the composition of overlapping elements keep you involved in the painting and appreciating the technique.
SECOND PLACE
Cottages of Horseshoe Cove–Kay Kocher
Exploring white nuances as positive and negative spaces keeps your attention as you move from space to space. Simple but intricate.
THIRD PLACE
Tucson Barrio–Nancy Light
This scene draws your eye into the picture as you deal with the shapes patterns and contrasts, wondering about the stories this place could tell.
HONORABLE MENTION
A Clear View–Janealla Killebrew
The artist took advantage of the moment. Reflections, composition, and an interesting point of view remind us that art is all around us and we just need to open our minds to see it. Many would just pass by…look up!
HONORABLE MENTION
Wait!–Anne Abate
You can’t walk by this piece and not engage in the emotional angst and calling for you to “wait!”
HONORABLE MENTION
Green Backed Heron–Jeffery Savino
The challenge of inlaid wood in a bird study drew the attention to detail, craftsmanship, and acquired skill needed to create this piece.
HONORABLE MENTION
Ho Ho Ho–William Horvath
The composition of the faces looking down and the robust bodies felt like a combination of the Jolly Green Giant and buddies at Mardi Gras with all the excitement and energy.
