A collection of special places
Up to four million times a year, people choose to spend time in a Metropark. People recognize that parks are special places to gather, to exercise, recreate and learn about nature. Metroparks protect our community’s natural resources by using public dollars responsibly to conserve, preserve and restore areas that provide remarkable environmental and economic value for all of northwest Ohio. Parks and open space benefit the community by helping clean the air and water, retain storm water, provide essential habitat for wildlife and enhance property values.

Keep the creative fire going through the winter, everyone!
One of the oldest women's art organizations in the country, the Athena Art Society Inc. began in 1903 to assist and encourage women in all branches of the Fine Arts. Athena continues to promote and develop the visual arts and stimulate community participation. We also provide local art awards, host juried and non-juried member exhibitions, and support other arts organizations through leadership and partnerships. As membership is by invitation only, some of the area's best known women artists have proudly participated in the Athena Art Society.
