In this workshop beginning to advanced students will explore ways to create unique, personal works of art based on their own reference photos. Participants will learn how to find dynamic compositions with strong focal points and push color to enhance their vision. We will step away from the confinement of exact “copying” of reference materials and move toward finding our own interpretation of a scene.
$4,000+ in awards, including the Kingston Healthcare Purchase Award for an outstanding artwork to enter the Toledo Federation of Art Societies Permanent Collection, joining over 70 years of outstanding Toledo regional art.
TFAS 100+5: Juried Regional Exhibition is a juried, all-media exhibition hosted by The University of Toledo, Department of Art at the Center for the Visual Arts (a member organization of TFAS). The exhibition is open to all artists within the greater Toledo area. Independent membership in the Toledo Federation of Art Societies (TFAS) and a listing in the TFAS Membership Directory are included in the entry fee. All submitted work must be available for purchase.

David Guip, Professor of Art Education, Professor Emeritus, University of Toledo, is leading docent tours for members of the Toledo Artists' club at the Toledo Museum of Art. There will be four more tours this spring: The tours are held on Saturdays starting at.1:30 pm. We meet in the Libbey Court. Here are the dates:

All skill levels are welcome for this day long program. Bring your easel, paintbox, and a sunhat for a day of painting on our beautiful, 87-acre historic landscape on Lake St. Clair. You will find lake views, paths, historic architecture, and gardens. There will be juried prizes of $1,000, $500, and $250. Admission is $30 for Ford House members, $35 for non-members. At 6 pm that evening, please attend the Paint Out: Fresh Paint Party. Artists and guests can view the juror’s awards, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a glass of wine, and see the paintings on a stroll through the landscape. Tickets to the party can be purchased

All art work must have water depicted - a named lake, pond river or stream in Michigan. It can include people, wildlife and flora, as well as lighthouses, barns, boats, bridges, etc. Artists do not have to live in Michigan. Two and three dimensional media are accepted. Work may be for sale; there is no charge to exhibit and there are no awards. Each artist may enter up to 3 pieces. Deliver art work to the River Raisin National Battlefield Park & Visitor Center on
