Prospectus

Get Down on the Farm Gallery and Virtual Show

Media are limited to painting, drawing, and photography. The maximum frame size is 36 inches on the longest side. Artists are invited to submit digital images (.JPG) of up to three original works of art. All submissions must be made through the online application. The show will be promoted on the Toledo Artists' Club website and Facebook page, to the public, and to area art organizations.


All artwork must be original, completed within the last four years, and not produced in a class or workshop. Artwork that received an award in any previous exhibition at the Toledo Artists’ Club may be submitted but is not eligible for an award.


The club retains the right to reject any entry it considers inappropriate or inappropriately framed. Drop off accepted entries at Toledo Artists’ Club, at the date and time given below. All entries to be displayed in the gallery must be suitably framed except for gallery-wrapped canvases. All entries (except for oil paintings and acrylic paintings) must be presented with clear acrylic glazing. Soft pastels may be glazed with clear glass if desired. All entries must be ready to hang. Artwork must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit. Saw-tooth hangers are not acceptable. Back labels will be provided to the artists for the accepted works. The label must be attached to the back of the art.


Important Dates

  • Monday, August 29, 2022: Call for entries opens.
  • Thursday, September 29, 2022: Deadline to submit
  • Thursday, October 6, 2022: Notification of accepted artwork
  • Tuesday, October 25, 2022, and Wednesday, October 26, 2022, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.:
    Deliver artwork to Toledo Artists’ Club.
  • Sunday, October 30, 2022: Exhibit opens
  • Monday, December 26, 2022: Exhibit closes
  • Wednesday, December 28, 2022, and Thursday, December 29 2022 between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. Pick up artwork from Toledo Artists’ Club. If a person other than the artist is picking up the work, they must have the artist's written permission.
     

Release of Liability
The artist should always insure their work. The Gallery Committee will professionally handle the artwork. The Toledo Artists' Club is not responsible for any loss or damage to the artwork at any time during the duration of this exhibit.


Entry Fee

  • Toledo Artists’ Club members: $35.00 for one, two, or three pieces.
  • Non-members: $40.00 for one, two, or three pieces.
  • All artwork must be submitted through the application below.
  • The fee is paid when submitting entries.


Entry Procedure
Having the following information and images ready before completing the application will make the process faster and more efficient.

  • Name, address, email, phone number
  • Artwork title, media, materials, dimensions (Important: dimensions stated MUST be
    the framed size.)
  • Retail price
  • Images of artwork

The contact information must be accurate; the email address and phone number provided will be used to contact you regarding your submission.

  • Image files should be in high-quality JPEG format, not exceeding 2MB in size, and 1,920 pixels on the longest side.
  • A maximum of three (3) images may be submitted.
  • Each uploaded file name must contain your first initial, last name, title of the work, and medium. Separate all initials and words with an underscore; do not use a space.
  • Example: v_van_gogh_the_starry_night_oil.jpg
  • Please follow the file naming example carefully.
  • For more information or help photographing your work and/or help with completing the application (including properly sizing and naming your images), contact the club.

PLEASE NOTE: entries without properly labeled images will be disqualified.

Awards

The juror chosen by the Toledo Artists’ Club Board Members will select these awards:

  • Best of Show: $100.00
  • First Place: $75.00
  • Second Place: $ 50.00
  • Third Place: $25.00
  • Four Honorable Mention Certificates.
  • One People's Choice Award

The People's Choice Award is selected by visitors to Toledo Artists’ Club during the exhibit by voting for their favorite work of art. The artist whose work receives the most votes will receive the People's Choice Award. The winning artwork and recognition will be exhibited at the Toledo Artists' Club until March 2, 2023. The winner will be announced in the January 2023 Sketchpad.


Sale of Artwork
All artwork must be for sale. The contact information of any buyer will be provided to the artist shortly after the close of the exhibit. The artist is responsible for arranging the delivery of the sold work to the purchaser. The sale price minus commission (25%) will be remitted to the artist within 30 days of the end of the show.
